Christian Wade
One of the highlights this preseason has been the play of running back Christian Wade. The former rugby player who joined the Bills as part of the NFL International Player Pathway Program wasted little time making an impact.
In his first NFL game, he broke off a 65-yard touchdown run against the Colts. He then followed that up with a 48-yard reception against the Panthers. These plays had many fans wanting to see him make the 53-man roster.
However, since Wade is part of the NFL’s program the Bills get an extra spot on the practice squad to add the running back. This exemption, combined with the fact that the Bills have great depth at the position, would make it unlikely that he will make the regular season roster. This means that Thursday night will likely be the last time fans get to see the running back this year.
It would make sense that the Bills try to give a player like Wade extended playing time in this game since he will not see any game action until next preseason.
