Cody Ford

The Bills’ second round draft pick was on the field for the team’s opening drive and after starting the game against the Indianapolis Colts at right guard, he had his second straight start at right tackle against the Lions. He ended up playing 28 of the Bills’ offensive snaps.

The play of the game for Ford came on the Bills’ second touchdown drive when he was able to seal the edge for fellow rookie Devin Singletary. This was the highlight of what has been an up and down preseason for Ford.

The hope would be this is a play he builds on going into the regular season. There doesn’t seem to be a question about whether or not Ford will be in the starting lineup but rather what position he will play. He has been playing tackle the past two weeks with Ty Nsekhe dealing with a knee injury.

If Nsekhe isn’t ready for the regular season, Ford would likely remain at tackle but does the rookie slide inside to guard once he is back? This is worth watching as the Bills get closer to their game against the New York Jets.
