Dawson Knox first preseason action

The tight end position has had to deal with their fair share of injuries this summer but the team appears to be getting healthy at just the right time. Seventh round pick Tommy Sweeney is coming off a good game against the Panthers with over 45 receiving yards on two catches but the attention for this game will be on fellow rookie Dawson Knox.

The former Ole Miss Rebel was selected in the third round by the Buffalo Bills and unfortunately he has not been able to play in either preseason game due to a hamstring injury. However, he has returned to practice this week and is expected to play.

It will be worth watching when Knox gets in the game, if he sees snaps before Sweeney and if he is on the same page with Josh Allen. The fact that Sweeney has been working almost exclusively with the Allen and the rest of the starting offense the past few weeks, should give him a slight edge in the battle for the starting job.
