The Buffalo Bills remain undefeated this preseason with a 27-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

The Buffalo Bills controlled the flow of the second preseason game right from the start as they jumped out to a 10 point lead and cruised to a 27-14 win over the Carolina Panthers. This was the team’s first road win and they moved to 2-0 this preseason.

While the Panthers held out a number of their key starters like Cam Newton, Christian McCaffrey and Luke Kuechly, the Bills had most of their starters in for at least the first couple of drives. It was Josh Allen though who had the most impressive performance going 9 of 11 for 102 yards with both drives resulting in points, a 30 yard field goal by Stephen Hauschka and a one-yard touchdown run by LeSean McCoy. He looked poised and in control of the offense right from the start.

The Bills’ defense had another strong performance as well, holding the Panthers to only two field goals in the first half. They also had their first defensive touchdown of the season when Kevin Johnson picked off rookie Will Grier and returned it 70 yards for the score.

This extended the Bills lead to 17-0 and after the Panthers connected on a field goal, Matt Barkley led the offense on a two minute drive that was capped off with a touchdown pass to Duke Williams with under 30 seconds in the half.

The scoring slowed in the second half for both teams with the two only combining for 11 points. The Buffalo Bills had a field goal in the fourth quarter and the Panthers followed that with a touchdown and two point conversion to cut the lead down to 13.

The Buffalo Bills will be heading home after a week in the Carolinas with two joint practices at Wofford College with the Panthers and tonight’s preseason game. They will begin preparation for another road game as they travel to Detroit to face the Lions next Friday night.
