Trent Murphy
The only player on this list who was with the Bills last year is defensive end Trent Murphy. The defensive end was signed as a free agent last offseason however his first season with the team was a bit disappointing.
However, Murphy has been trying to put that behind him and has come into camp looking like a ‘totally different player’ according to defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
Murphy had a breakout season with the Washington Redskins in 2016 with nine sacks but suffered a torn ACL during the preseason of 2017. That injury forced him to miss the entire season and he appeared to still be working back into form last year.
That has changed this summer and if Murphy can elevate his play, it will have a tremendous impact on this defense. The coaching staff will have depth at the position with Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson also in the mix.
When Murphy is on the field, it will be worth watching his explosiveness and how quickly he is able to get into the backfield for the Buffalo Bills.
