6. The jumble of intriguing, yet minimally experienced depth fillers

There are four current Bills receivers on these rankings that are currently in contention to be the No. 1 target for the foreseeable future; then there are those vying for a roster spot. Amongst the latter group is some interesting — and subsequently promising — names, but most project as depth heading into 2019.

Andre Roberts, likely the first off the bench, is a lock to make the roster due to his special-teams proficiency. Though he’s a nine-year veteran in the NFL, Roberts hasn’t seen consistent starting snaps since 2014. Behind him, currently, are youngsters Ray-Ray McCloud and Isaiah McKenzie — two undersized, yet explosive, slot receivers with minimal NFL experience.

Da’Mari Scott, David Sills V, Duke Williams, Victor Bolden Jr., Cam Phillips, and Cam Easily round out the bunch. Most won’t make the opening 53-man roster, but three could: Sills, Williams, and Bolden. Sills is a rookie most thought of as a middle-round pick prior to the draft and was massively successful at West Virginia. Bolden is a slot receiver with some NFL experience, and Williams is a CFL product with a fair share of intrigue and a big body.

Though the Bills have their fair share of depth to choose from, none, currently are in contention to be the team’s top target. One may surprise, similar to Robert Foster in 2018, but it hasn’t happened yet; so don’t expect an answer from the end of the depth chart.
