The Buffalo Bills are one of the more improved teams of the 2019 off-season, but Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox sniffed out their red flag.

In his most recent article, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox took a look at each NFL team’s biggest red flag heading into the 2019 season. For the Buffalo Bills, the analyst pinpoints their receiving corps as an area of concern, as he notes;

"Buffalo revamped its receiving corps this offseason, bringing in the likes of John Brown, Cole Beasley and tight end Tyler Kroft. However, there isn’t a true No. 1 receiver on the roster, and there’s no telling if this patchwork collection of complementary receivers will be enough to push Allen to the next level as a passer."

The Bills lack a proven No. 1 receiver, but they aren’t in a situation where they don’t have a fix on the payroll. Zay Jones, John Brown, Robert Foster, or Cole Beasley can be that guy. The problem is, we haven’t seen it yet, at least on the Bills.

However, the position may not be a red flag in totality; it’s not like the team is trotting out Andre Holmes, Kelvin Benjamin, or Jeremy Kerley; expecting more production than reality will give — there is real talent at the position.

Jones is a prolific college receiver that has shown flashes of dominance. Both Brown and Foster are speed merchants that will make life easier for Josh Allen down-field. Beasley, a slot ace, will provide his quarterback with a consistent target. Tight ends Tyler Kroft and Dawson Knox are each athletic, receiving types that can move and stretch defenses.

Do the Bills have a red-flag? Allen is a risk, but a calculated one with excellent upside. The defense — as a whole — is returning a top-ranked unit and will benefit from Ed Oliver wreaking havoc in the interior. The coaching staff appears to be a good fit and has most parts intact. The offensive line is one of the most improved units of the off-season — you can say the same for the running back group.

When you consider how surprisingly well-rounded the Bills are, the red flag given to their pass-catcher corps is just. Ironically, it’s not a red flag; instead, it’s an uncertainty that oozes untapped potential. Hopefully, by the end of 2019, the Bills’ valiant efforts to rebuild both the wide receiver and tight ends corps are known and lauded.
