The 2020 mock drafts are already flowing and Buffalo Bills fans may notice a trend in the position being targeted at this point in time.

Mock draft season never ends. The draft junkies out there know this.

Those not invested 24/7/365, like myself, can look at these early mock drafts to get an idea of some players the Buffalo Bills may target 11 months from now.

Thor Nystrom of Rotoworld recently posted his own 2020 mock draft that had the Bills selecting at No. 11 overall. That is a good start and means things didn’t go terribly wrong.

With the actual pick he has the team taking CeeDee Lamb, wide receiver out of Oklahoma.

From the article:

"Lamb would give the Bills a worthy WR1 who’d allow the Zay Jones/John Brown/Clay Beasley troika to slot into their natural secondary and tertiary roles. I think Lamb’s a better prospect than Hollywood Brown."

Lamb stands 6-foot-2 and could come in as the top guy on offense. This of course depends on what Zay Jones and Robert Foster do this year. If either becomes a dominant force on offense with Josh Allen, that changes the needs at the top of the draft.

As of right now wide receiver seems like the top position to target. Brandon Beane went out and improved the offensive line in free agency and the defense is set up nicely.

Needs of course change as the year goes on but early mock drafts should mostly have the Bills targeting receivers. Maybe a top offensive lineman if there is someone just too good to pass up.

Quarterback being taken care of keeps things fun and allows Beane to go in any other direction. When a team needs a quarterback, GMs can reach and make foolish decisions in an act of pure panic.

I don’t think Beane would do that regardless.
