The Buffalo Bills officially signed a new running back today to make the group a bit younger after a veteran addition earlier this offseason.
It is officially NFL Draft week and the Buffalo Bills decided to get off to a hot start on Monday.
The team didn’t wait until the draft to add a younger running back. Instead, the Bills announced the signing of TJ Yeldon this morning.

He is the latest former Jacksonville Jaguars running back to join the team after Chris Ivory came to town last year. Ivory was released by the Bills earlier this offseason.
Yeldon only had 1,872 rushing yards in his four years with the Jaguars, but he added 1,302 receiving yards. That makes him an intriguing option in Buffalo as he can help Josh Allen both on the ground and through the air.
This also helps take the major load off of LeSean McCoy to produce as a receiver as well. Then there is Frank Gore, who can handle anywhere from 5-10 carries per game.
An improved offensive line should mean good things for the backfield trio. The upgrades hopefully mean McCoy will bounce back from a disastrous season and be the star the offense needs him to be. Yeldon can fill in the rest.
Yeldon ran for 414 yards and had 487 yards through the air in 2018 for a total of five touchdowns. He is only 25 years old and is at the perfect point where he has experience but is also young enough to be around for awhile.
Maybe being around the ageless wonder in Gore will rub off on Yeldon.
This move doesn’t take away the possibility of the Bills drafting a running back later this week. It just means the team doesn’t have to make the position a top priority.
