The Buffalo Bills aren’t targeting a quarterback and could trade out of the No. 9 overall pick. Another option is to stay put and take the best player available.

There will surely be some teams who are desperate to move up in the NFL Draft to select a quarterback. It happens every year.

The Buffalo Bills were one of those teams last year. This time around the Bills are in a position of leverage.

The Bills could easily slide down a few spots in the first round if the price is right. Acquiring an extra second-round pick or even a future first-rounder, if a team is insanely desperate, would be more than a fair deal.

But another option is for the team to just stay put and take a top player. Given one or two quarterbacks go in the first eight picks, that leaves the Bills in a great position to grab a player at any other position.

The likely targets would be either on the offensive or defensive line. The offensive line got some upgrades in free agency, although extra talent in camp is never a bad thing.

We look at this topic and more in today’s edition of The Morning Charge.

There is some top talent available for the Bills if the team stays at No. 9 overall. The team could even go after a top tight end at that spot.

It sure is nice when quarterback isn’t a top need. Time to bolster the rest of the roster and fight for a playoff spot in 2019.

The Bills can also improve via free agency.

The initial surge of additions is over, but there are some notable names still on the market.
