The Buffalo Bills should be aggressive in free agency and are getting started early by taking meetings with several players.

NFL free agency officially begins next week but the drama is already underway.

The Buffalo Bills are wasting no time and have already begun taking meetings with several players.

The first two players of note are Dwayne Allen and Kevin Johnson.

Allen is a veteran tight end who spent last season with the New England Patriots. He barely saw any action in the passing game but could come to Buffalo to serve as both a veteran presence and as a reliable blocking tight end.

Johnson is a cornerback who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Houston Texans. Unfortunately, the former first-round pick hasn’t played much due to injury. Perhaps he could have a career resurgence in Buffalo.

The visits are only going to continue and it will be fun to see who ends up taking a meeting with the Bills. Hopefully those who visit provide more to the team than Vontae Davis did last year.

Let’s look at this news and more in a Thursday edition of The Morning Charge.

Buffalo Bills News:

Learning more about tight end Dwayne Allen (BuffaLowDown, Steven Kubitza)

The veteran tight end wouldn’t join the team with big expectations in the passing game, but he could provide a veteran presence to help bring stability to the offense. His addition would mean the team would still need to add at least one more tight end.

How the Bills can transform the receiving corps in 2019 (BuffaLowDown, Stephen McCarthy)

The Bills have plenty of options available both at tight end and wide receiver. This article outlines an ideal way to improve the offense.

Report: Bills will pursue Panthers OT Daryl Williams in free agency (Bills Wire, Brad Gelber)

The Bills appear to be interested in yet another player from Carolina. At this point, any talented offensive linemen will be a welcome addition.

What should Bills do with Shaq Lawson and fifth-year option? (Buffalo Rumblings, John Boccacino)

The Bills have a big decision to make when it comes to Lawson.

It sure would be nice for some first-round picks to sign second contracts with the team.
