The Buffalo Bills need a replacement for Kyle Williams and one top prospect stands out as someone to target at No. 9 overall.

Mock draft season is starting to get more serious as the NFL Combine is underway and we will get a better sense of how the top prospects are being viewed.

There is also the possibility the Arizona Cardinals give up on Josh Rosen and take Kyler Murray, shaking up the whole draft board.

That is what happens in Peter Schrager’s first mock draft. The NFL Network host has some interesting picks, and that includes his choice for the Buffalo Bills at No. 9 overall.

It is a pick made in several other mock drafts covered here on the site. That is the selection of Ed Oliver, defensive tackle from Houston.

As mentioned in many mock drafts, Oliver did have a bizarre on-field incident where he yelled at his coach because said coach told him to take off a jacket when Oliver was inactive for a game. Apparently team jackets are only for active players, regardless of the weather.

This will likely be brought up in meetings, but I doubt it will have any impact on his draft position. There are plenty of guys with actual issues who won’t see those issues impact their draft status either.

Oliver is listed at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds and will be showing off his abilities on Sunday when the defensive linemen take the field for their workouts.

Oliver did miss several games last season due to injury and essentially staying health for the draft, but was the Outland Trophy winner in 2017 and is a three-time All-American. He has all the qualifications of being a top-ten pick and should be one.

Him coming to Buffalo simply depends on what position the Bills deem as the biggest need at No. 9 overall. That is if the team doesn’t trade out of the spot.
