A recent NFL.com article offers up fun free agency fits for each NFL team. The one for the Buffalo Bills would solve an immediate need.

Every single day the sun is staying up a bit longer and free agency is getting closer. That means Buffalo Bills fans will have some real news to talk about soon enough.

The team has made some minor roster moves since the season ended, but actual free agency is still a few weeks away. Until then it is all about speculation.

A recent NFL.com article written by Marc Sessler looked at “fun” free agent signings each NFL team could make this offseason.

In the name of wild fun, Sessler chose Mitch Morse as that exciting add for the Bills.

Morse is a center who has spent the first four years of his career with the Kanas City Chiefs. Here is what Sessler had to say about him:

"The Bills were dragged down last season by one of the league’s ugliest run-blocking units. The pass protection wasn’t much sunnier, forcing rookie arm Josh Allen to run for his life inside a weapons-free offense. Assuming he bolts Kansas City, Morse would give Buffalo an anchoring presence at the pivot after finishing as the sixth-best pass-blocking center in football last season, per Pro Football Focus."

I wouldn’t exactly call this move “fun,” but it is a necessary one for the team to get better in 2019. Morse should be poised for a nice contract, but nothing that is out of the question for the Bills given the team’s cap space.

The key would be for him to want to leave the dominant Chiefs, but money can usually play a role in that. Adding Morse would help fill the major void left by Eric Wood after the 2017 season.

As for a move I could consider more “fun,” that would be adding Golden Tate to add some talent and experience to the receiving corps. Tate will be 31 years old next season, but that is a position group that could desperately use a veteran to help teach the younger guys.

Such a strategy certainly seemed to help with the development of Josh Allen.

Adding someone like Morse would be nice because he is only about to be on his second NFL contract. He could come to Buffalo and be the center for years to come, building a strong relationship with Allen in the process.

While the move wouldn’t stand out as one that excites the casual Bills fan, it would be a major step toward adding a strong foundation on offense.
