The Buffalo Bills have plenty of money to spend and draft picks to make, but trades could end up being a major factor this offseason.
Monday morning is here and I hope everyone is alright after the insane winds overnight. I personally willed my power to stay on as the lights kept flickering.
On a fun note, my power surged before Best Picture was announced.
Back to football, over the weekend we ran several stories discussing trades the Buffalo Bills can make this offseason. So much attention has been paid to the money available in free agency and the 10 picks held by the team. Yet trades could end up being a major part of the offseason, and that is because of the money and the picks available.
Trades could be made to add both NFL-ready talent and to move up and take another top prospect in the first round after selecting at No. 9 overall. Or the team could move down a few spots and pick up more assets in the process.
With so many roster holes to fill, Brandon Beane will have to get creative. There are several veterans with bigger contracts on the roster that could be moved. Then there are all the picks.
We look at this news and more in today’s edition of The Morning Charge.
Buffalo Bills News:
A trade scenario for a new backfield (BuffaLowDown, Stephen McCarthy)
The Bills could save money and get younger in the backfield with the trade proposed in this article. It just may take some time for the new player to be welcomed by the Bills.
Bills likely out of possible Antonio Brown trade talks (BuffaLowDown, Steven Kubitza)
One crazy trade would be to bring Antonio Brown to Buffalo. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the Steelers would agree to such a move.
Bills have eighth-easiest schedule in 2019, according to 2018 record (Buffalo Rumblings, John Boccacino)
Strength of schedule always changes once the season actually begins. Yet this is a good sign as of right now.
Why Bills should consider trading sacks leader Jerry Hughes (ESPN.com, Mike Rodak)
Hughes is one of the veteran players who could be on the move this offseason.
There is no need to get rid of him right away, but it makes sense if a great trade package comes Beane’s way.
