Buffalo Bills: Remaining in-house free agents at the end of January

The Buffalo Bills have several in-house free agents to consider, although none factor in as major names that must be brought back.

The Buffalo Bills will use a fortune of cap space to go after free agents on the open market. Or so I hope.

But before we reach that frenzy of activity, there are still some in-house free agents for the team to make decisions about.

Unfortunately for those players, none stand out as players that must be kept around in 2019.

The fact there are three offensive linemen on that list stands out to me, and it is entirely possible that none of them return. Though I would expect at least one to come back on a deal that could be cut easily based on how the Bills go about free agency and the NFL Draft when it comes to the line.

The Bills are in a great position with the roster. The top talent is under contract and all the young players who stepped up last year are still on cheap deals.

Just don’t cringe when you remember how much Star Lotulelei is making.

This freedom allows Brandon Beane to consider basically any player on the open market. If he wants to overpay someone to be a leader in Buffalo, he has that ability.

The best news of all from the roster is that the entire quarterback position is already settled for 2019. Offseasons where the quarterback depth chart is in question are stressful, and the stress only grows exponentially when we don’t know who will be starting under center.

Yet that is all cleared up this year and Beane only has to make decisions on players who won’t be making much anyway.
