The Buffalo Bills enter the offseason with plenty of optimism. Hitting on the 2019 first-round draft pick will keep the good vibes going.

It is finally time for Buffalo Bills fans to dive into mock drafts on a full-time basis.

Some moves in free agency can serve as worthy distractions. At least until the next mock draft comes out.

We now know the Bills have the No. 9 overall pick. That means the team will grab one of the best prospects available, meaning mock draft selections can go in many directions.

One key position of need is offensive line. Not one specific spot on the line, but the whole group in general. That is something that has been reflected in a lot of mock drafts up to this point.

A recent mock draft comes from Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller and is his first one following the conclusion of the regular season. His choice for the Bills is Jonah Williams, offensive tackle out of Alabama. We have seen his name pop up a lot so far, which makes sense given the need along the line.

From the article:

"There is debate among NFL scouts about what position best fits Alabama’s Jonah Williams. Some believe he’s too light (6’5″, 301 lbs) and short-armed to play left tackle and picture him inside at guard or center. Others see his technique and don’t care that he’s around 305 pounds. The Buffalo Bills shouldn’t worry about which position he’ll play because Williams has the tools to be dominant wherever he lines up."

Drafting a lineman is always tricky. We have seen plenty of busts, which is true at any position. Some fans think you just take the biggest guy and make him a starter right away and that everything will be fine. That isn’t true, yet as Miller points out there are options with Williams.

Right now I imagine the Bills are targeting offensive line or wide receiver with that No. 9 overall pick. And if Brandon Beane believes great value can be acquired later in the round, he can find a desperate team and get a nice return in a trade.

Next. Foster and Wallace are more than just one-year wonders. dark

We will begin putting out mock drafts of our own here at BuffaLowDown later this offseason, so I am excited to see all the possibilities once we know everyone who is declared for the draft.
