Nathan Peterman began the year as the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. That went terribly, but he has found a new team.
The Nathan Peterman experiment did not go well for the Buffalo Bills.
The young man was forced into the starting role as a rookie and had one of the worst debuts in sports history.
He redeemed himself enough to open the 2018 season as the team’s starting quarterback. That lasted one half of football.
Peterman stuck around for a bit but was ultimately let go once it became clear Derek Anderson was a more favorable option at quarterback when Josh Allen was sidelined with an injury.
Peterman had some tryouts over the past few weeks but it was announced today that he has officially found a new team.
Gruden signed Nathan Peterman because AJ McCarron is at the hospital after he and his wife gave birth to a baby boy last night, Cash Carter McCarron. Peterman will take scout team reps. https://t.co/FZpwMZ3unh https://t.co/Eh1fomLCVH

After several different reports, the news finally came out that Peterman was signed as a practice squad player with the Oakland Raiders. Not a bad way to earn some money around the holidays.
From a Bills fan perspective, no one is upset that Peterman is no longer wearing a Bills uniform. Well, I’m sure I only speak for 99.99 percent of Bills fans.
But as a sports fan in general, it is great to see Peterman get another shot. His confidence can’t be too high and getting some time with a new team could help him get back to the level of a competent NFL quarterback.
He will have no stress over the final few weeks of the season if he remains on the practice squad, and can learn a new system that may end up being a great fit for him.
As a side note, isn’t it interesting that two of the three quarterbacks in Bills camp this summer are now members of the Oakland Raiders. After all the preseason arguments about who should start, this is quite the unexpected end to the discussion.
