Buffalo Bills: Another season-ending injury in 2018
The Buffalo Bills have another player headed to injured reserve at a position that has struggled to provide much on offense all season.
The Buffalo Bills were without both LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory on Sunday. That gave Marcus Murphy a chance to earn some more work here at the end of the season.
Unfortunately, Murphy suffered an injury and won’t be back in 2018.
Murphy finishes his year with 250 rushing yards on 52 carries. He did not score a touchdown and is fourth on the team in rushing.
Murphy was the clear third option in the backfield all season, and could even be seen as the fourth option with how much Josh Allen has run the ball.
The best game he had came in the blowout win over the New York Jets, when he ran for 69 yards on 14 carries. To be fair, that was a great game for everyone involved.
Murphy being out may mean Keith Ford sees some more action at running back, but not if McCoy and Ivory are good to go on Sunday.
This isn’t major injury news, but rather another sign that injuries tend to pile up as the season goes on. The Bills are very lucky to not have many more major injuries at this point in the year. The problem is that the good fortune has only resulted in five wins.
In other news, the injury allows for more young players to get some time on the field. As seen in the earlier tweet above, the team signed another wide receiver in Victor Bolden. No better way to make some cash around the holiday than to receive a nice NFL paycheck.
