The Buffalo Bills currently have one of the top defenses in the NFL, but could look to make it even better via the 2019 NFL Draft.

Just a few weeks ago it seemed that the Buffalo Bills may be rising in the 2019 NFL Draft order. Two straight losses has put that conversation to rest.

The Bills seem to be headed for a top 10 pick at this point and could even end up in the top five. The worst record in the league is 3-10, just one game from the Bills’ mark of 4-9.

That means it is once again time to look at FanSided’s latest mock draft, written by Brad Weiss.

Last week, Weiss had the Bills picking No. 8 overall and selected Andraez Williams, cornerback out of LSU. The Bills are up to pick No. 6 this week, but Weiss has them taking Williams once again.

Here is some of what Weiss had to say:

"When it comes to cornerbacks in this draft class, Williams is by far the best talent, and is a guy that is going to go within the first ten picks next April. If the Bills had Williams and White as their cornerbacks for the next five seasons, they actually may be able to make some noise in an AFC East that has been dominated by the New England Patriots for almost 20 years."

The Bills are currently the only defense allowing fewer than 200 passing yards per game, and are the best defense overall in yards allowed with an average of 290.6 per game. Adding a top corner alongside Tre’Davious White would only make the defense more elite and one that could be feared by opposing offenses.

If the offense was competent this year, the defense could have helped lead the Bills back to the postseason. The group is already at that level. Adding someone like Williams could mirror what has gone on in Chicago, where the defense is so good that just average play on offense is enough to win.

Who the Bills are able to select will ultimately depend upon the team’s draft position. And those hoping for a top prospect may secretly be rooting for losses over the final three games.
