The Buffalo Bills have some easy opponents in the month of December and may end up picking outside the top 10 in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Buffalo Bills have four games remaining this season, and three stand out as winnable.

Games against the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions are all set to be played in Buffalo in December, and all three stand out as games the Bills could and should win. Then there is the game in New England, which would be a major upset if the Bills pulled out a win.

At this point in time, the Bills are one of four teams currently with a 4-8 record. Five teams have worse records as of now. This has the Bills right around the 10th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

ESPN.com recently published a projection of the 2019 draft order. The Bills showed up at No. 11 overall, right behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There is always talk of picking in the top 10 or the top five, but there is still plenty of talent just outside the first 10 picks.

The Bills have a record of 4-8 but as I mentioned, there are several winnable games remaining on the schedule. This scenario is always interesting as it brings up separate arguments. One is that losing is better because it results in a higher pick. The opposite of that is the view that picking up some wins will be valuable to the young players on the team and will help with their development for 2019.

I find the first argument to be tough to make because the players aren’t going to go out and lose on purpose. At the same time, it is no fun to watch the team lose so wins are better for everyone involved.

The Bills went to the playoffs last year and still ended up with two great players in this past year’s draft. Dropping a few spots at the end of this season won’t have negative effects on this team moving forward.
