FanSided released its annual list of the best fandoms in all the world and Buffalo Bills fans showed up high in the 2018 rankings.

It is not easy rooting for a team that has had limited success over the course of two decades.

But Buffalo Bills fans have not slowed down one bit.

Bills fans are all over the world and rep the team as members of Bills Mafia. The group also showed up at No. 55 overall, and No. 7 in the NFL, in FanSided’s 2018 Fandom 250. The annual rankings look at the best fandoms in the entire world, not just in sports. So the Bills showing up so high is a testament to how great the fans are.

Here is some of what was written about the fandom:

"One only needs to look at the full stands on a brutally cold December afternoon or see the shenanigans going on in the grass lots to understand how much Bills fans love going to their cathedral on Sundays. Bills Mafia might be a wild bunch, but they equal their insanity with passion for their team. No matter the record, fans will pack the parking lots to jump through tables, grill up some lunch and share in the heritage of fandom."

Every Bills fan knows the greatness of the fandom, making it an easy choice for the Fandom 250. There are certain NFL teams that have trouble drawing fans, even when things are going well. When things are going poorly, certain stadiums are nearly empty.

That is not even close to what goes on in Buffalo. The fans love their Bills and home games become an event. Not just a three-hour activity when looking for something to do.

Top top fandom this year belonged to Cleveland Browns fans. That team has enjoyed a small bit of success this year and Browns fans are always looked to as supportive due to the way people still attend games after decades of heartbreak.

But a case can be made to put the Bills at the top of the rankings as well. The two teams are only a few hours apart on I-90 and have been in similar situations since 1999. Oh well, maybe next year.
