The Buffalo Bills have won two straight games and are still technically in the AFC playoff hunt with five games remaining in the season.
The Buffalo Bills have won two straight so it is time to get reckless with a look at the AFC playoff hunt.
If you hate fun and don’t even want to consider the possibility of an improbable run to the playoffs, this may not be the piece for you.
The Bills currently sit with a record of 4-7, which puts the team 13th in the AFC. Yet that it only two games behind the No. 6 seed currently help by the 6-5 Baltimore Ravens. The Indianapolis Colts are also 6-5, while the Tennessee Titans can reach that mark tonight.
After that are three 5-6 teams, a 4-6-1 Cleveland Browns team, then the Bills.
Right now the Bills have the disadvantage of having lost to both the Ravens and Colts. It would also likely take a perfect finish to the season and a 9-7 record to even have shot at the playoffs. But there is still hope.
The Bills have two games against the struggling Miami Dolphins, one more against the New York Jets, one against the lowly Detroit Lions and one against the New England Patriots.
I can see the Bills being favored in every game except the one against the Patriots. That game is the second-to-last game of the year, and it is possible the Bills head in at 7-7 if everything goes right up to that point.
Hey, anything is possible.
The players simply have to focus on the upcoming week and winning that one game. What still technically being in the playoff hunt does is keep the games that much more meaningful. Players will have a reason to fight on Sundays for more than just pride. Fans can also have fun by scoreboard watching.
Meaningful December football is important for both players and fans. It keeps everyone interested and helps spark the motivation to go sit out in the cold and watch the team when some may decide to stay home if the record is painful on the eyes.
