The 2018 season hasn’t been a great one for the Buffalo Bills. But a few players on the team have stepped up to have solid years.

I have spent the past few weeks routinely talking about how this hasn’t been the best of years for the Buffalo Bills. That is no secret.

But there have been positives through the first 10 games.

A FanSided article written by Rucker Haringey went through and picked an MVP from each NFL team up to this point in the season. The choice for the Bills was rookie Tremaine Edmunds.

Here is what Haringey had to say:

"Statistically speaking, he leads the team with 70 total tackles, including 49 solo stops. Add in two forced fumbles and it’s clear he’s been a playmaker in the middle of the field. We’d still like to see more natural instincts from Edmunds, but his athleticism is nothing short of outstanding. When the Buffalo defense has played well this year, he’s been the leader of the group."

It is hard to argue with this choice. Other options could include Tre’Davious White or even Matt Milano, but Edmunds is a safe choice as well. Unfortunately, no one on offense really factors into the discussion. Maybe the great Matt Barkley, but that is it.

Edmunds has been racking up tackles all season and has played up to his draft position. The one thing I have noticed too is that he has always played hard, no matter how bad some of the games have gotten. That is a little thing that doesn’t change win/loss results, but it is important for a rookie to develop good habits early on.

Josh Allen has also shown some progression in his limited action, so Bills fans can at least rest easy knowing that the team didn’t blow one of its first-round picks in 2018. Picking a total bust could set the team back a few years.

I understand it is still too early to definitively say that Allen and Edmunds are going to be stars and in a Bills uniform for the next decade. But the early signs have shown development and that is all we can ask of rookie players.
