Nate Sudfeld
Not the Eagles QB you were hoping to see? Well the Bills are building for the future, and it’s clear that Nathan Peterman cannot be the long-term backup in Buffalo. Nate Sudfeld is 25 years old, and blocked behind Carson Wentz and Nick Foles. With discussions involving LeSean McCoy and the Eagles, it’s fair to assume the Bills will need some players back in any trade.
Sudfeld has been coached in the NFL by Doug Pederson and Jay Gruden, which makes him intriguing and more developed than others. Still disappointed?
There aren’t good QBs to trade for that will significantly help the Bills this season. Sudfeld could secure a No. 2 role for the Bills with a good showing after a trade. By doing so the Bills can save money in adding a veteran to that role in 2019, and possibly a draft pick as well.
Sudfeld has limited stats, but his coaching and study on a Super Bowl winning team makes him intriguing to add. Any addition that could fill a hole, regardless of how small, is a win at this trade deadline for the Bills.
