The Buffalo Bills got destroyed in Week 7 and the opponent will only be tougher in Week 8. That makes it tricky to bet on the Bills this week.

It is no secret that the Buffalo Bills will be seen as underdogs in the Monday night matchup against the New England Patriots.

The odds just show how big of an underdog the Bills are.

OddsShark has the Bills listed as 14-point underdogs against the Patriots one week after losing 37-5 to the 1-5 Indianapolis Colts.

From an outside, unbiased point of view, this may be seen as an easy bet on the Patriots. However, this Bills team has proven to be a bit unpredictable this season and playing at home in primetime could mean the game is a close one.

I generally avoid taking on any double-digit spreads. Especially when the underdog is the home team, even if it is against the Patriots. Although this may once again be some biased thinking coming into play.

The matchup page on OddsShark shares the terrifying fact that the Bills are 2-11-1 against the spread when playing the Patriots at home the past 14 years. And we know that the spreads haven’t exactly been small throughout the years.

If you are someone who really wants to bet on the Bills, I would advise just going all out and taking the moneyline. The Bills are +795, so an upset wouldn’t just mean excitement in Buffalo. It would mean a lot of money for the risk-takers. Just don’t bet too much on that outcome.

The stadium will be rocking and fans will be praying for a monumental upset. But first, the Bills need to focus on simply scoring a touchdown after a disastrous game in Indianapolis. And it is possible LeSean McCoy misses the game.

So maybe only put down a bet that equates to a single cup of coffee, if you must.
