Surprisingly one of only a few safeties on this list, Henry Jones may not have been a huge name during his days in the NFL. Then again, it’s pretty easy to overlook a guy named Henry Jones, considering the lack of uniqueness in that name. Regardless, he was a great football player.
That rang true throughout his 10 seasons in Buffalo, as Jones was a prominent piece of the defense. The fact that he turned in one of the greatest defensive seasons throughout franchise history though, is why he even finds himself on this list.
During his sophomore 1992 campaign, Jones was a bona fide superstar. Earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors (the first and last of both in his career), he hauled in eight interceptions, racked up 92 total tackles, recovered two fumbles and scored two touchdowns. His impact was unexpected but appreciated, helping Buffalo battle its way to a Super Bowl appearance.
Jones was an exceptional starter for much of his career. Although he never managed to recreate his otherworldly 1992 effort, the Bills absolutely loved having him on the back-end for a decade.
