1. Defense, Defense, Defense

After a terrible start to the season, the defense is beginning to look like unit we thought we were getting heading into the season. All three levels of the defense contributed to the win on Sunday as the secondary got an interception, the linebackers forced a fumble and the defensive line got sacks.

With all of the money and draft picks spent on the defense this summer, we are finally beginning to see a dominant defense. They are consistently taking the ball away, getting to the quarterback and their tackling has been great.

Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano have looked like one of the top young linebacking duos in the league as they combined for a forced fumble and recovery. The defensive line continued to bring the pressure as Kyle Williams continues to be an impact player while new arrival Jordan Phillips had an immediate impact. Lorenzo Alexander also made big plays and has been a great leader and player for a growing unit.

Taron Johnson looks like a steal as he got his first career interception and has fought through injuries to be a fantastic nickel corner. Tre’Davious White has become one of the best corners in the league and has shut down the opposing team’s best receivers week after week, becoming the team’s best player.

Overall, the defense is here. They continue to stifle offenses no matter the caliber and that will keep them in games. If they can figure out the starting corner back spot across from White and Johnson plus Micah Hyde can get healthy, this unit can continue to be one of the better ones in the league and put the Bills in position to win.
