The Buffalo Bills played an ugly game Sunday afternoon but still managed to come away with a victory. Here is what stood out from the win.

Don’t look at the box score from Sunday’s victory over the Tennessee Titans. This one is all about the final score.

The Buffalo Bills picked up a 13-12 victory on a game-winning field goal from Stephen Hauschka to take down a Titans team that came in with a record of 3-1.

Josh Allen finished with 82 passing yards but did have a 14-yard touchdown run to put the Bills up 7-0 early. Luckily, he didn’t need to be the leading rusher in this one.

The Bills finally committed to running the ball and while it was not a great game on the ground, at least it was something. LeSean McCoy finished with 85 yards on 24 carries, after entering the game with only 21 carries in three games played. Chris Ivory added 43 yards on 14 carries.

The defense was the story in this one. Marcus Mariota threw an interception and the Bills recovered two Titans fumbles. The Titans only finished with 221 total yards.

How are you feeling after this win? I have seen mixed reactions on Twitter and from our staff. A victory is nice and keeps some playoff hopes alive with a 2-3 record. At the same time, the problems on offense continue to be glaring.

McCoy was the leading receiver with 23 yards on two catches, while Zay Jones was next with 20 yards on three catches. Number one receiver Kelvin Benjamin finished with one catch.

But these are problems for the front office to address this week. That is, if the goal is to continue to try to reach the playoffs and not go into an immediate rebuild in October.

As fans, we should all be enjoying this win. Victories in the NFL are not easy to come by. Teams need to fight hard and play a complete game, along with some other similar buzz words. The Bills kept fighting and even though it was ugly, this win counts the same as the one in Week 3.

The key now is to accept that this was an ugly win and work toward correcting a lot of the mistakes made today. And in this game in particular, those mistakes largely came on offense.

Still, tomorrow is a Bills victory Monday and fans should enjoy it. It’s much better than the alternative.
