The Buffalo Bills are in a sort of holding pattern until a starting quarterback is named. That and more in today’s Morning Charge.

The hot takes are flying. So is the doom and gloom when it comes to the Buffalo Bills.

I just saw a piece published asking if the Bills are already the worst team in the NFL. Not a good sign.

Most of this talk is a result of the way the team played on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Yes, it was ugly. But it was still a preseason game. No need to panic just yet.

The team still doesn’t have a definitive starting quarterback, so that limits the expectations a bit. We have seen good and bad from all three players, who have dealt with different faces in front of them on the offensive line.

Not having a starting quarterback yet is another reason why some are offering up low expectations on the Bills. But there is more to the team than that one position.

It is annoying to keep hearing but it is true that a season cannot be judged by preseason play. The Cleveland Browns looked great last year in the preseason, going 4-0. That turned into an 0-16 regular season.

It is fine to be frustrated but no one should be putting too much stock into these preseason games. That and more in today’s Morning Charge.

Week 1 starting quarterback needs to rest Thursday (BuffaLowDown, Steven Kubitza)

I see no reason why the Week 1 starting quarterback should be on the field Thursday in the preseason finale. The problem is that Sean McDermott may not have made a decision by then.
