The Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen head to Cleveland for their preseason match against the Browns and Tyrod Taylor. We make our bold predictions for the game.

The nationally televised Buffalo Bills preseason game is upon us. We’ve got Tyrod Taylor vs. Josh Allen, which will be discussed despite Allen likely facing the second team and Tyrod the first. Baker Mayfield will also play for a long stretch and he’s another who will be compared to Allen throughout his career in the NFL.

It’s fair to say this game is about as exciting as a preseason game is ever likely to get. I’m most looking forward to seeing Allen play with and against someone other than the third team.

Enough rambling, let’s get into the bold predictions.

Allen outperforms Baker

Baker Mayfield seems to be highly rated around the league, and he had a good debut against the Giants, finishing 11/20 for 212 yards with two touchdowns. I’m sure nobody mentioned his completion percentage though.

If Allen and Mayfield both go against the second team tonight, expect Allen to shine brightest out of the two. Allen made a good impression last week but with better players around him on this occasion, don’t be surprised to see him make some big plays and back those up with numbers.

This isn’t the boldest of takes for those of us who rate Allen highly, but the world seems to want him to fail and he may well give people something to think about tonight.

Shaq Lawson takeover

Shaq Lawson has had a disappointing first two years in the NFL. After struggling with injury and Rex’s scheme in 2016, the general consensus was he’d be back to his best in 2017. Unfortunately, he failed to impress, especially with his pass rushing.

The arrival of Trent Murphy this offseason seemed to suggest the end was near for Shaq. However, with injuries to Murphy and a big training camp from Lawson, he’s put himself back in the conversation to start. He’ll get lots of time on the field tonight with Murphy sidelined. Expect a couple of sacks for Shaq.

Corey Coleman revenge game

It’s time for the Bills to see what Corey Coleman has to offer and what better of an opportunity than to ball out against the team that traded him for a future seventh-rounder. It’s not quite known when Coleman will enter the game but don’t be surprised if he gets reps with the first team.

I can see Coleman catching a couple of touchdowns tonight, hopefully one from Josh Allen as that’s a connection we’re going to see for years to come if all goes well.
