A recent ESPN.com article went through and looked at No. 1 receivers on every NFL team. Kelvin Benjamin was the clear choice for the Buffalo Bills.

The wide receiver position is one Buffalo Bills fans will be focusing on when training camp begins in July. There is a group of players all fighting for jobs, with only about two sure spots confirmed as of right now.

Those two spots belong to Kelvin Benjamin and Zay Jones.

Between those two, Benjamin is the clear No. 1 guy and that was also the thinking in an ESPN.com article looking at the No. 1 receiver situation on every NFL team.

A few years ago, Bills fans would have been ecstatic knowing that the team landed Benjamin. However, injury problems have held him back from what could have been a dominant start to his career.

Fans who weren’t too impressed with Benjamin in Buffalo last season need to remember he was brought in during the season, which isn’t always the best way to get acclimated to an offense. He now starts his first full season with the team, and has time to work with all three quarterbacks before the season begins.

Benjamin is essentially the No. 1 guy by default but that is not a knock on him. That is just because the team didn’t go out and try to bring in another top receiver talent. Instead, Brandon Beane has assembled a group and is hoping to find some diamonds in the rough, such as Robert Foster.

Zay Jones will also only be in his second NFL season so he could very well have a breakout year. If he can do that and Benjamin can stay healthy, this Bills receiving corps won’t be as big a question mark as it seems to be right now.

The good news from this is that the Bills have a clear No. 1 receiver. The bad news is that he isn’t exactly a star. At least not yet.
