Another long offseason is close to ending as the Buffalo Bills will finally begin training camp exactly one month from today.

One more month. Just one more.

The Buffalo Bills will be taking the practice field on July 26, just one month from today, to begin training camp and officially welcome in the 2018 season. The first preseason game is August 9, so things start moving rather quickly once camp opens.

Fans have gotten glimpses of the team during some offseason workouts and minicamps, but not much happens during those. We hear about some players who looked solid, but training camp is when moves are made either up, down, or off the depth chart.

We here at BuffaLowDown have looked at some position battles all over the roster to focus on in 2018. But the quarterback battle at training camp will be the one fans will be talking about every single day. The results of every pass thrown will also be clogging up Twitter feeds starting July 26.

Everything said about keeping Josh Allen on the sidelines could change in an instant if he lights it up at camp. If this team is not in a tanking phase, there is no reason not to go with the best player available at every position, including Allen.

But the rookie still has to earn the job and both Nathan Peterman and AJ McCarron aren’t going away quietly. Both believe they can start and McCarron may have to reconsider his career goals if he fails to win the job here in Buffalo.

Wild camp competitions aside, training camp is a great outing for fans. It is especially nice for younger fans, as games can often be a bit intense when the regular season gets underway. It is also a great place to snag some autographs.

The regular season doesn’t begin for over two months but training camp is the first step toward getting back into that football mindset. Only one more month. This shouldn’t drag by at all.
