Tre’Davious White had an amazing rookie season for the Buffalo Bills and may be on his way to the Pro Bowl in 2018 if he plays well once again.

There are Pro Bowl snubs every year. But Buffalo Bills fans couldn’t believe that Tre’Davious White wasn’t selected to the event after his amazing rookie season.

The rookie corner was clearly one of the better corners in football, as Pro Football Focus pointed out, but that was not enough for him to represent his conference in a game that doesn’t mean much anymore. However, the honor of being selected still means something.

The fact he played in a market like Buffalo may have impacted the decision, but White still put his name out there as a top corner by those who actually follow the game. And that is why he ended up on a list made by NFL.com’s Gil Brandt as a player who should be a first-time Pro Bowler in 2018.

From the article:

"The 2017 first-round pick made the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team after picking off four passes — including one of Tom Brady that inspired an overzealous response from Rob Gronkowski — and starting all 16 games. He has great coverage ability and will tackle, and I think he’ll shine in Year 2 under Sean McDermott."

Given White puts up similar numbers to what he did last season, there is no excuse for him not being selected to the Pro Bowl. But that is the key. He set high expectations for himself and his rookie year won’t matter to fans or voters if he has a lackluster second season.

But since White did this well as a rookie he should only realistically get better as he begins to approach his prime. One important thing to remember is not to look at his interception numbers this year to determine how much success he is having. Fans often do this, but the interceptions won’t come if quarterbacks refuse to throw the ball near White because of his stellar coverage.

There is still an entire season to be played before we can start talking Pro Bowl. However, White is easily one of the top candidates on the team to receive the honor this season.
