The Buffalo Bills had two picks in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, taking a defensive back and an offensive lineman.

Buffalo Bills fans may be hoping to see the team go after some wide receivers in the 2018 NFL Draft. Instead, the team went elsewhere with their latest two picks.

The Bills selected defensive back Siran Neal with pick No. 154.

Neal comes from Jacksonville State and is listed as a safety, although his position has changed the past few years.

Neal joins Taron Johnson as two defensive backs taken by the Bills today. While the team does need some help on offense, Brandon Beane may not be too high on the available receivers.

The team addressed a different need on offense at pick No. 166 with the selection of Wyatt Teller, guard out of Virginia Tech. He is listed at 6-foot-5 and 314 pounds and should come in competing for a starting job in 2018 with the departures along the line.

The Bills have two picks remaining, barring any trades, and fans may be looking for a receiver. At this point, there may not be too much value available at the position, but it never hurts to take a chance on a player this late. No one will fault the Bills if they don’t end up keeping a sixth or seventh-round pick on the roster. The problem will be if the receivers struggle this year, and fans wonder why the position wasn’t addressed earlier in the draft.

I don’t expect any major surprises this late, but it is possible the Bills draft a future star with one of the final two picks. So stay tuned.
