The Buffalo Bills have some major decisions to make this week during the 2018 NFL Draft that will impact the team’s future success.

History will let it be known that drafting quality players is the sure way to playoff berths and Super Bowl wins. With the 2018 Draft just one day away, there is a large audience who is looking for the impact that this draft will have immediately on the Buffalo Bills. Though this goes without saying but, there is a long-term game that has to be taken into account.

There is no argument surrounding the fact that this season is critical for the Bills. The upcoming draft is not shy when it comes to talent, especially at the QB position. The Bills will be under a great deal of pressure to draft a franchise QB come Thursday as they are poised to select No. 12 and No. 22 overall.

As the Tom Brady-less New England Patriots are becoming a close reality, the Bills will need to capitalize on his absence in the division. With Buffalo having some core young talent in Zay Jones and Nick O’Leary, if they continue to get younger and develop multiple threats, the Bills can take hold of the division for years to come.

Both Jones and O’Leary have become fundamental pieces of this offense. With the acquisition of AJ McCarron, these two will become a dual threat along with star running back LeSean McCoy.

Drafting is a large part of immediate success. But, building a successful team needs to incorporate free agency as well. With the Bills getting better each year, they will attract larger names in the FA pool. With the Bills having some major holes to fill outside the quarterback position, the team five years down the road from now will be built on the outcome of Thursday’s draft.
