The Buffalo Bills begin voluntary offseason workouts today, but the main focus surrounding the team remains on the upcoming NFL Draft.

The 2018 regular season doesn’t start for several months, but some semblance of actual football is back as the Buffalo Bills hold voluntary offseason workouts today.

This is a time for teammates to meet up and get some conditioning work in, as opposed to any official sanctioned practice.

One notable appearance is that of Zay Jones, who seemingly still has a place on the roster after his incident this offseason.

So many Bills fans always bring up the idea of character when it comes to this team. It is also important to keep in mind the idea of second chances, and that is what Jones is getting right now. Giving up on someone who may be a high character guy wouldn’t do any good.

Other notable appearances include both AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman, who are in a bit of an odd situation. They have to have the mindset that they are competing for the starting job, while also knowing they will likely have a third, much more hyped contender.

So while these workouts begin and both quarterbacks speak with the other guys on offense, the main focus surrounding the team remains on the draft.

The NFL is a business and both McCarron and Peterman know that, although I imagine it must be tough knowing you aren’t in the team’s plans for the future. At least if the speculation of trading up to take a quarterback is true.

The real hype surrounding offseason workouts will be when the rookie class shows up to put in some early work. If the team takes one of the top quarterbacks in the class, the national media will be present to watch and critique every single throw.
