The Buffalo Bills recently lost a player to free agency, while a player still on the team was given an update after a recent incident.

While Buffalo Bills fans sit back and wonder if the team will make a monster trade up to the top of the 2018 NFL Draft, there is some news to talk about.

Let’s start first with a departure.

Gaines to Cleveland

E.J. Gaines is the latest Bills player to make the move to Cleveland after signing with the Browns.

Gaines started in 11 games for the Bills in 2017 after coming over from the Los Angeles Rams. He had one interception and was part of a secondary that made noise last season.

Gaines was solid in Buffalo, but his injury problems may have been enough for the Bills to decide to move on. Injuries are a part of football, but the team may want to seek options who are historically healthy, or even pursue someone in the draft.

An update on Zay Jones

The bizarre situation involving Zay Jones this week was certainly an unexpected and unwelcome surprise for Bills fans. The good news is that Jones was not seriously injured after breaking glass and being restrained by his brother.

The latest update is that Jones will not be facing prosecution, allowing him to move on and for the team to consider what the next move will be.

This doesn’t mean the young receiver is in the clear, but it does mean the team can hear his side of the story and move forward without having to worry about any legal ramifications.

If this happened during the season, there may be a more swift reaction. However, leaving the issue alone for a while will allow it to die down a bit. Jones will have to address it eventually, but not right away.
