Buffalo Bills’ Protection/Offensive Line Against Von Miller

Everyone, including myself thought Von Miller was going to have himself a day when going up against rookie left tackle Dion Dawkins and right tackle Jordan Mills. Surprisingly, Miller couldn’t really find his usual rhythm.

Yes, he had his sack early in the game, six total tackles and a couple of quarterback hurries, but the Bills offensive line ultimately did an excellent job of shutting down one of the leagues best pass linebackers. Miller never seemed to wreck havoc on the Bills offensive line and never exposed Dawkins or Mills.

The offensive line deserves huge attention after the win, and to make matters better for the Bills; they were even without offensive tackle Cordy Glenn with an ankle injury.

One of the reasons why the Bills managed to get the win and Taylor having the day he did was the protection his offensive line gave him. Taylor had good protection all day, there were a few times where he had to scramble and make a play, but overall Taylor had cleaner pockets than he had in the first two weeks of the season, resulting in better looks downfield to find open targets.
