Week 3 of fantasy football may not fare well for Tyrod Taylor as he faces off against the rugged defense of the Denver Broncos.

The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback, Tyrod Taylor had a strong week one showing against a weak defensive team, the New York Jets, but then struggled against the Carolina Panthers. Here are Tyrod Taylor’s recent game stats:

All statistics and fantasy projections per ESPN standard scoring leagues.

  • Week 1 vs. New York Jets
    • 224 yards
    • 2 touchdowns/1 interception
    • 18.8 fantasy points
  • Week 2 @ Carolina Panthers
    • 125 yards
    • 0 touchdowns/0 interceptions
    • 10.5 fantasy points

It is important to remember that Tyrod Taylor has the ability to pick up fantasy points on his legs, and that can put stress on opposing defenses. The Jets struggled to fend off against Taylor’s dual-threat attack, but the Panthers handled it well. This could stem from the Panthers’ defense practicing against one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league with Cam Newton.

Here is how the Denver Broncos defense has fared against opposing quarterbacks in recent weeks:

  • Week 1 vs. Phillip Rivers
    • 192 yards
    • 3 touchdowns
    • 17.7 fantasy points
  • Week 2 vs. Dak Prescott
    • 238 yards
    • 2 touchdowns
    • 15.9 fantasy points

The Broncos’ secondary has been less than impressive thus far based off of how opposing QB fantasy stats have been. Their talented secondary has kept offenses contained, but haven’t completely shut them down.

Here are Tyrod Taylor’s ESPN projections for week 3:

196 yards – 1 touchdown – 33 rushing yards – 15.4 fantasy points

Tyrod Taylor has the 18th highest projections among all NFL quarterbacks for week 2. He is slotted behind quarterbacks such as Siemian and Andy Dalton because of the tough match-up. Chris Harris Jr. and Aqib Talib do not take kindly to opposing quarterbacks running all over them. I would put Tyrod Taylor in the 12-14 fantasy point range for Sunday.

I am assuming none of you are in an 18 team league, so unless you play in a 2 QB league, I would let Taylor ride the pine in week 3.
