DT Marcell Dareus

All signs this offseason are indicating that Marcell Dareus is back on the right track to stardom. After several mishaps over the past few years, he seems poised to break out and return to his dominant form.

In 2016, Marcell Dareus’ season was delayed before it even began. Due to violating the league’s substance abuse policy, he faced and served a 4-game suspension. When he finally returned to practice, he suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out an extra three weeks.

His first game of the season came against the New England Patriots during Week 8. After posting one sack and one stuff in that game, he missed Week 9 to a groin injury. Dareus appeared in the final 7 games of the season, but simply wasn’t the same force we remember.

This season, I can tell that Mr. Big Stuff is hungry — very hungry. He seems to be responding well to the new coaching staff, who aren’t as lenient as the previous regime. He’s been going 125% at practices and has been keeping out of trouble off the field.

In fact, he’s been going above and beyond outside of the football field. He has taken part in countless charity events and has donated a lot of time and money this offseason to giving back to the community.

It has helped him turn a new leaf, as well as find some new inspiration ahead of the 2017 season. It looks like Dareus has a whole new outlook on life and he is ready to take that new outlook to the field.
