For the Buffalo Bills to get to the next level, they will need a lot of new pieces to gel. They have some returning players who had an underwhelming 2016, but could be massive impact players in 2017.

The Buffalo Bills added coaches, front office staff, rookies and multiple free agents this offseason. However, the biggest improvements to get the Bills into the playoffs, may come from players already on the roster.

For the Bills to improve, the Bills need to get more out of their roster and the biggest help could come from players returning from injury — or better scheme fits with the new coaching staff.

With limited salary cap space, the only way for the Bills to make the playoffs is from self-improvement from the existing players on the roster. The question is, who needs to be the comeback player of the year in 2017 for the Bills to have a shot at the playoffs?

For example, if Seantrel Henderson somehow gets healthy and starts over Jordan Mills at Right Tackle, it will be an upgrade. Yet even with Jordan Mills, the Buffalo Bills had the #1 rushing offense, so would that upgrade mean playoffs?

I don’t think so.

Let’s take a look at some of the candidates the Bills need to be comeback player of the year in 2017.
