Free agent DE Kroy Biermann visits Bills according to Bills Insider Chris Brown.
Free agent defensive end Kroy Biermann visited the Buffalo Bills today. He was drafted in the 2008 NFL Draft in the fifth round. He has played his entire career for the Atlanta Falcons before becoming a free agent this offseason.
Biermann has spent most of his time in the NFL as a defensive end in a 4-3 scheme but he can and has played outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme which the Buffalo Bills plan to use more often next season.
Biermann is more of a situational player who is very good against the run. According to Pro Football Focus, he was ranked as the 7th best edge rusher in 2015 when playing run defense. However, he is not very good at rushing the passer. He ranked as the 132nd best edge rusher in pass rushing situations and overall was ranked the 79th best edge rusher in the league.
If the Bills were to sign him, he would compete with IK Enemkpali as the primary backup outside linebacker on the team. Biermann would probably sign a one-year deal for the veteran minimum.
Biermann’s wife, Kimberleigh Zolciak-Biermann, was featured as one of the original housewives on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. A separate series was spun off from that show featuring the couple which has so far included four seasons with a fifth expected. The couple is not shy when it comes to displaying their affection for one another publicly as you can see from this Instagram post.
If you remember the Bills issues on defense from last season it was the lack of a pass rush which was the major problem. If you can’t remember that far back, you may want to look into that (but not before finishing this article). Adding Biermann would be a curious decision since he isn’t a good pass rusher and that is where the Bills defense needs to improve the most from last season.

Also, Buffalo would not be a great career move for his wife as it’s hard to imagine the executives at Bravo coming up with “The Real Housewives of Buffalo” starring Kimberleigh Zolciak-Biermann.
Biermann won’t do much to help the Bills lack of depth at defensive end and linebacker. They will still need to replenish both of those positions in the draft. Whether the Bills chose to sign Kroy Biermann or not, it won’t have a major impact on the outcome of next season.
