2006: Vince Young eliminates Bills from playoff race
Merry Christmas Bills fans! And as Buffalo’s present to you, we are going to lose when everything was set on a silver platter to control our own destiny into the playoffs. Except… Vince Young ruined those dreams. Young threw for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns, as well as ran for 61 yards and a touchdown as the Titans scored the last 10 points of the game to give Tennessee a 30-29 victory over Buffalo.
The Bills had scored 13 unanswered points to take a 29-20 lead, anchored by a pair of Rian Lindell field goals and a 37-yard Lee Evans touchdown catch from J.P. Losman.
Rob Bironas and Lindell combined for eight field goals on the afternoon, but Bironas got the last laugh with a kick from 30 yards out to give the Titans their final lead with 2:10 remaining. The Bills had entered into Titans territory, down to their 28 with just under a minute remaining. But Losman broke their hearts, throwing a pick to Reynaldo Hill, sealing Buffalo’s fate.
