Okay, so we got the first test out of the way. People now know Tyrod Taylor can play in this league.

The next step in his development is to show he can produce on a consistent basis. Although it may be unfair to judge him negatively, if he performs poorly against a Bill Belichick-coached defense.

Everyone knows Belichick will have something up his sleeve to deal with the 26-year old. On the flip side, there is only so much game-planning you can do, given Taylor’s ability to ad-lib and/or take off on a scramble.

Regardless, it sure will be interesting to see what the Bills new starting quarterback does against the Patriots. He was extremely efficient during the first 30 minutes versus the Colts, and while he slowed down in the second half, this was partly down to the team protecting a 24-0 lead.

Even this early in the season, this is a game which may well tell us a lot about what Taylor is capable of. And while it will be a tough matchup for him, at least he won’t have to deal with Vince Wilfork or Darrelle Revis, who are both plying their trade elsewhere this year.

Next: Needs to continue what he started last week
