Buffalo Bills Circling the Wagons: Stephon Gilmore, Def

More from Buffalo Bills News

The Buffalo Bills came off of a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers this past weekend, but did take a couple of injuries along the way as well.  The biggest is probably Stephon Gilmore, as Ronald Darby did not show enough to convince me he is a number 1 corner at this point.

Here are your daily links for the Buffalo Bills from around the web.

E.J. Manuel: Could the Buffalo Bills Cut QB Before Season?

"E.J. Manuel has been struggling in a big way throughout training camp and preseason action, and there is a lot of concern about him. The Buffalo Bills have both Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel above him on the depth chart right now, and there is just one more preseason game left before the 2015 regular season gets started. Perhaps the biggest question now is whether or not Rex Ryan will cut his struggling quarterback. There haven’t been a ton of bright spots for Manuel over the past year or two, but he did put together a nearly perfect preseason game this past week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He completed seven of his eight passing attempts for 170 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions."

Bills left with four healthy receivers as tough decisions loom

"The Buffalo Bills must trim their roster to 75 players by Tuesday afternoon, but barring miracle healing by several players, it’s safe to say the Bills won’t be making cuts at wide receiver. The Bills finished Saturday’s preseason win over the Pittsburgh Steelers with just four healthy receivers: Marcus Easley, Dez Lewis, Andre Davis and Tobais Palmer."

Rex Ryan hopes Bills CB Stephon Gilmore will be ‘fine’

"After leaving Saturday’s preseason win over the Pittsburgh Steelers with a possible concussion, Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore did not return because of a shoulder injury.Asked about Gilmore’s injury after the game, coach Rex Ryan responded, “[He’s] gonna be fine, I hope. We need him, he’s gonna be fine.”"

The biggest concern for regular season

"Buffalo saw a couple of more receivers go down to injury in Saturday’s game with Marquise Goodwin suffering injured ribs and recent signee Austin Willis sustaining a concussion. With most of the team’s top wideouts not seeing much preseason action and unlikely to see much in the preseason finale, Rex Ryan hopes their timing in the passing game is still there.Ryan was asked how game ready the offense is in light of their receivers not seeing much time in preseason games."

Rex: I challenged our defense on purpose

"Bills head coach Rex Ryan wasn’t overly concerned about his team’s pass defense against Pittsburgh Saturday. While he wasn’t thrilled that they gave up big plays he said going into the game he purposely challenged them on the back end with play calls and a lack of blitzing.Ryan said the plan was to force his secondary to communicate more to prepare them for stressful times in the regular season."
