Quarterbacks

Starter: Tyrod Taylor

Reserves: Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel

At one time, there was a very real believe that Manuel’s spot on the roster could be in jeopardy. However, this theory was removed from the equation, once Rex Ryan admitted that picking the 53 best players on the roster likely meant keeping three quarterbacks.

Of course, that still doesn’t get us much closer to working out who will be the main man under center on opening day. As per the respective performances so far in the preseason, there is a genuine argument to be made for all three contenders.

For his part, Ryan has admitted he will not reveal his starter until the last possible moment. However, there is a report circulating that the Bills head coach is in favor of Taylor, while the rest of his coaching staff would prefer Cassel.

If…IF…this report is true, then as far as I’m concerned, Taylor will start on opening day, because ultimately, Ryan has the final say. In that respect, the former Baltimore Ravens backup would also be my pick, given that he provides an X-factor the offense desperately needs.
