The Buffalo Bills have surpassed 60,000 season ticket sales for the first time in franchise history. In the process, the fans showed why they’re arguably the most loyal in the NFL.

It’s one thing to have high season ticket sales when you’re on run of four consecutive Super Bowl appearances. However, to set a new season record while dealing with the longest current playoff drought in the league, speaks volumes about Bills fans.

The news was confirmed by buffalobills.com on Monday morning. In total, they have sold 60,102 season tickets for the 2015 season.

As a way of saying thank you, the Bills have launched onebuffalo.com/Bills60kClub, to acknowledge every season ticket holder. The team are also planning to make a 60K graphic in the tunnel at Ralph Wilson Stadium, that will include each account holder’s name.

Bills President and Managing Partners Russ Brandon issued a release and stated: “Bills Season Ticket Members are the most loyal, faithful and passionate fans in the National Football League.

“We want to take this opportunity to celebrate this record-setting achievement and honor our Season Ticket Members publicly with the 60K Club website and graphic.”

Brandon finished the release, by summing up the vibe in Western New York: “The organization and all Bills fans are excited for a great 2015 season.”

Certainly, bringing Rex Ryan on board as head coach has captured the imagination of Bills supporters everywhere. It also helps that the roster is as stacked with talent as at any time since the team last made the playoffs, following the 1999 regular season.

However, this is not to take anything away from the fans. For my money, they’re the best in the game, with only Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and (maybe) Chicago Bears supporters capable of making a plausible argument.
