Every day we get closer and closer to the start of the season.  Tomorrow Madden comes out.  It is football season.  With that injuries occur, but the better part of that is players come back after being injured.  Fred Jackson and Sammy Watkins were seen on the field this weekend, back from injuries.  Boobie Dixon should be next.  The team that had 3 undrafted rookies for last weeks game against Cleveland, will look to have at least one of their 5 incumbents on the bench to carry the rock.

Here are your daily links for the Buffalo Bills from around the web.

Dareus sits out; Jackson takes charge

"With LeSean McCoy, Boobie Dixon, Karlos Williams, and Bryce Brown all still out, Fred Jackson is the number one running back.  The first two plays in the first 11-on-11 session were Fred Jackson off tackle followed by a swing pass to the veteran. The Bills are now game-planning for the Indianapolis Colts week one.  Both Saturday and Sunday they had a scout team offense and defense line up as the Colts would and simulate Colts plays"

Rookie receiver Dezmin Lewis must get physical

"He’s not in the Southland Conference anymore. Dezmin Lewis realized this quickly at Buffalo Bills training camp. When the pads came on, cornerbacks shoved him, clutched him and re-routed him those first five yards off the line of scrimmage.“I’m from a DI-AA school,” Lewis said. “The physicality level is a lot different than the NFL. I could get open easily with just a passive route. But here, everything has to be precise and crisp.“It’s a big difference.”"

Buffalo Bills hopeful Mario Butler shares how he overcame the brutal unsolved murder of his father

"Personal tragedy won’t keep this football player from making the final cut.A defensive back hopeful for the Buffalo Bills shared how the unsolved murder of his father 15 years ago shaped his life and career in an interview with the local paper.Mario Butler, 26, appears close to making the Bills’ roster this season after playing in only one NFL game in the past four years, according to The Buffalo News."

Buffalo Bills Rumors: Tyrod Taylor Pulling Ahead In Quarterback Competition

"The Buffalo Bills are rumored to have solved their quarterback quandary, and it’s Tyrod Taylor who appears to have stepped forward as the starter. The team went into training camp with three men vying for the starting job — the veteran Matt Cassel, third-year player E.J. Manuel, the wild card, Tyrod Taylor. As the New York Times noted, the strengths and weaknesses of Manuel and Cassel are more or less clear, but Taylor’s lack of playing time while riding the bench behind Joe Flacco in Baltimore made him an intriguing choice."

Bills turning to Steward

"All it takes is one injury in today’s NFL for a team’s depth to be exposed. The situation the Buffalo Bills find themselves in after losing reserve middle linebacker Ty Powell for the season because of a torn ACL illustrates that perfectly.Powell, primarily a special teams player in his first two seasons with the Bills, had been praised throughout the spring and early in training camp by coach Rex Ryan for the job he had done defensively. It was clear the coaching staff felt comfortable with Powell if anything happened to starting middle linebacker Preston Brown."
