The Buffalo Bills have come away from their first preseason game, one which they lost, but score does not count in the preseason. What counts is how the team and individuals played and hopefully provides a more difficult decision for the coaching staff to cut individuals from the team to make it down to the 53 man roster.

The game showcased the quarterbacks, all of which, had decent nights.  Tyrod Taylor is schedule to be the starter against the Browns this coming week.

Buffalo Bills vs Carolina Panthers: Quarterback

"Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was frustrated in himself after rushing six times for 16 yards in Friday night’s preseason loss to the Carolina Panthers.“I have to get a lot better,” McCoy said in halftime quotes distributed by the team. “I need to get my reads better. I didn’t play well today. I need to knock this rust off and get back into the groove of things.”Coach Rex Ryan saw McCoy’s 2.7-yard rushing average differently."

Tyrod Taylor to start for Bills against Cleveland Browns

"Rex Ryan will continue his quarterback rotation by starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor in next Thursday’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns.“He is going to get a lot of the first reps,” Ryan said. “So we will do it business as usual, but he will be getting the first shot at it so he will probably be getting a few more reps.”Ryan did not reveal which quarterback will replace Taylor in the game."

Good byproduct of QB competition

"While a lot of outside observers lament Buffalo’s quarterback situation with a three-man competition and no definitive runaway winner in the competition, RB LeSean McCoy sees the whole thing differently.He’s encouraged by how even the competition is because in his mind it means the position has one important quality."

Panthers steal win from Bills late, 25-24

"In a Nutshell:In a game where neither team ever led by more than a touchdown, Buffalo looked like they had put the final points on the board late in the third quarter as a 51-yard touchdown pass from EJ Manuel to Deonte Thompson looked like it would be the difference putting the Bills ahead 24-17. But with under a minute to play Joe Webb hit Brandon Wegher for a 42-yard catch and run for a touchdown. Carolina then was successful on the two-point conversion as Webb hit Paul Browning to steal a 25-24 win for the Panthers in Rex Ryan’s debut as head coach of the Bills."
