Bills sign CB Westbrooks, waive WR Holley

"The Buffalo Bills added some depth to cornerback Tuesday, signing Lavelle Westbrooks and designating wide receiver Caleb Holley as waived/injured. Holley injured his hamstring in Monday’s practice.The 6-foot, 185-pound Westbrooks was originally drafted in the 2014 seventh round by the Cincinnati Bengals, placed on injured reserve in August and then released by the team.He played four seasons at Georgia Southern with 41 starts, totaling 167 tackles, 20 pass break-ups and seven interceptions."

"Just before he and the rest of the Buffalo Bills’ defense took the field for the 10th practice of training camp Tuesday, Aaron Williams extended his arms horizontally and began making airplane sounds while running along the sidelines.The safety came in for a landing in front of athletic trainer Shone Gipson, wrapped him in a bear hug and playfully lifted him off the ground.“I don’t know what it is, but I feel good today,” Williams said, dancing slowly to the apparent music in his head while getting some last-minute taping of his wrists. Soon thereafter, he made a quick stop to put in some requests with the man who would be playing the tunes that blare over the public-address system during practice. Williams’ hip-hop selections were duly added to the playlist."

Buffalo Bills‘ quarterback competition will last at least two preseason games

"Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan isn’t sure when he’ll pick a quarterback, but he knows it won’t be for at least another week and a half.Ryan said after practice Tuesday he expects his quarterback competition between Matt Cassel, Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel to go through at least two preseason games. The Bills will have their preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers on Friday before traveling to Cleveland to play the Browns in the second week of the preseason on Thursday, Aug. 20. He doesn’t have much of an idea of how the reps will be divided just yet."
